Artists have submitted original pieces for a traveling exhibit featuring beavers and their habitat. The Wetlands Conservancy, North Coast Land Conservancy, the Necanicum and Lower Nehalem Watershed Councils are sponsoring the events, and will benefit from a percentage of the sales. The purpose of the project is to highlight the aesthetic, ecological, and cultural significance of beaver, Oregon's iconic state animal and Oregon State University mascot. The beaver is increasingly recognized for its positive contribution to the creation and maintenance of wetland habitat.
