The next century of forestry will be very different than the last. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are changing industries across the globe. Powered by cheap and abundant data, these tools can help us better manage complexity. But does adoption of these new tools result in improved forest design and thus, better forestry? In this talk, Silvia Terra president Zack Parisa will discuss how a flood of data from satellites and drones is changing the way forests are characterized and managed. He will lay out a practical framework for integrating "big data" into forestry and share a vision for how Machine Learning will transform how forests are valued and managed.
